The Megapack batteries<\/strong> constitute a massive energy storage system, usually used to stabilize electrical grids or store renewable energy. Here, they directly power the charging stations, independently of the traditional electricity grid. <\/p>\n\n

The principle is relatively simple: Megapacks store electricity, then redistribute it to Superchargers as needed. But there’s an obvious Achilles’ heel<\/strong>: the Megapacks themselves need to be recharged. <\/p>\n\n

Tesla has found an ingenious but complex solution: arrangements with neighboring companies<\/strong> that have access to the electricity grid. The cycle becomes: recharging Megapacks via private partners, then discharging to Superchargers for users.
