This temporary occupancy permit marks the beginning of production for the famous <strong>AI chips<\/strong> that will power <strong>Full Self-Driving<\/strong> in our <strong>Teslas<\/strong>. And guess what? Mass production is expected to start in the second half of 2026. It&#8217;s an exciting technological race between Samsung and TSMC, and I&#8217;m going to explain everything to you.    <\/p>\n\n<h2 id=\"samsung-reaches-a-decisive-milestone-in-texas\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Samsung Reaches a Decisive Milestone in Texas<\/h2>\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s start at the beginning: what is a <strong>temporary occupancy permit<\/strong>? It&#8217;s simply a permit that allows Samsung to start using part of its factory even before all final certifications are in place. In this specific case, it concerns 88,000 square feet, or approximately <strong>8,200 m\u00b2<\/strong> of the Fab 1 building located in <strong>Taylor, Texas<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n<p>But make no mistake: these 8,200 m\u00b2 are just the beginning. The full campus spans 486 hectares, and Samsung plans to reach 6 million square feet of production space by the end of 2026. The ambition is colossal.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Regarding the timeline, here&#8217;s what to expect: extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography tests will begin in March 2026, and <strong>mass production<\/strong> will start in the <strong>second half of 2026<\/strong>. Samsung isn&#8217;t stopping there: the factory is expected to expand by an additional million square feet by 2028. Tesla aims to halve that time, or even more. This is unprecedented in the automotive industry! This frantic pace demonstrates Tesla&#8217;s urgency and ambition in the race for autonomy.   <\/p>\n\n<h3 id=\"why-these-chips-are-crucial-for-your-tesla\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why These Chips Are Crucial for Your Tesla<\/h3>\n\n<p>Concretely, these chips are the brain of your vehicle. They perform the billions of calculations necessary for processing camera images, interpreting the environment, and making <strong>autonomous driving<\/strong> decisions. This is exactly what differentiates Tesla from traditional manufacturers.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Concretely, this means an acceleration in FSD development. New generations of chips will arrive faster, <strong>autonomous driving<\/strong> capabilities will progress more rapidly, and software updates will become even more impressive. Vehicles like <a href=\"https:\/\/tesliens.com\/exterieur\/quand-commence-vraiment-la-production-de-la-tesla-roadster\/\">the future Roadster and its technological promises<\/a> will directly benefit from these advancements.  <\/p>\n\n<p>In the medium term, within 2 to 3 years, we can expect even smarter Tesla vehicles, capable of handling increasingly complex driving situations.
